The 2104 Young Authors’ Workshop is now accepting applications!

Program dates:
Monday – Thursday, July 28 – August 7
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM each day
Open to students entering grades 10-12

The 826 Valencia Young Authors’ Workshop is an eight-day intensive writing camp for students going into 10th-12th grade. The theme of this year’s workshop is Being the Protagonist: Identity, Voice and Telling the Story of Yourself. Over the course of eight days, we will explore identity and how to write from your own point of view in all sorts of forms, from monologues to short stories to personal narratives. You’ll hear from guest speakers who are writers, artists, and performers. You’ll get to work with writing tutors on honing your skills, and you’ll learn from your peers in a strong community of young writers.

This workshop, like all of our programs, is free for students. While we wish we could offer it to everyone who is interested, we have limited space, so please fill out the application below (or, if that’s not working for you, you can also fill it out here, or just email your response to workshops@826valencia.org) to give us a sense of who you are and what you’re hoping to gain from this experience! Applications are due by Monday, June 16. We will respond to all applicants by Friday, June 20. We’re looking forward to a great summer of writing!
