Little Friends

Look Closer is a regularly released chapbook that compiles writing projects of the students in our After-School Tutoring Program. Lizette Ochoa’s piece is one of many that allows readers to glimpse at the immense creativity that students are still able to muster after their homework is done.

One day I went out to the park. I found a small playground and I saw little people playing. I tried to talk to them, but they were scared of me because I was bigger than they were. So I built another little playground that had more games than the first playground. The next day I put the little playground close to the other playground. The little people liked the playground and said thank you to me. They were my new little friends.
