We are very excited to announce that Tania Lisa Llambelis, an English Language Development (ELD) teacher at ASCEND (A School Cultivating Excellence, Nurturing Diversity) School in Oakland, is our January Teacher of the Month! Ms. Llambelis’s enthusiasm for teaching and her dedication to her students wowed all of us at 826 Valencia.
From her nomination packet, put together by students and parents, we learned that Ms. Llambelis loves teaching, which inspires her students and makes them excited to learn. Kimberly Cazares, one of her students, says that Ms. Llambelis “makes everything fun but challenging at the same time.” She incorporates dance into her ELD classes, something that many students say is “freeing” and “fun.” And one parent, Maricela Macias, notes that she has seen a noticeable change in her daughter after she spent two years with Ms. Llambelis. Read more about Ms. Llambelis (link to 826valencia.org).
The students at ASCEND School are lucky to have a teacher as inspiring and creative as Ms. Llambelis. Congratulations again, and keep up the good work!
Every month, we choose a new teacher to honor with the Teacher of the Month award and a cash prize of $1,500. Know a teacher you want to nominate? Check out our guidelines (http://826valencia.org/our-programs/teacher-of-the-month/).
