We’re truly honored to be featured in a fantastic Education Week article! The story focuses on our new programs that combine STEM with creative writing, as well as the philosophy behind our creatively constructed tutoring centers at each chapter. EdWeek also interviewed our CEO, Gerald Richards, for the article, who spoke about 826 as providing “stealth education” for our students.
“[Students] touch some eyeballs, they might try on the cape tester, then they walk in the back, and their whole perception shifts. It’s like, I’m not going into a tutoring space, I’m going into a different space where volunteers are waiting to work with me,” says Gerald. Read the full article here.
