Tutor Training: Acting for Critical Thought at Downtown High School

Because of the success of our partnership in past years, we are back at Downtown High School for the semester-long project "Acting for Critical Thought" with Ms. Nuval and Mr. Ayala's classes.

We are looking for a dedicated group of tutors who can work with students on their monologues, short plays, and essays about theater that they write from September through December. Classes meet on Friday mornings.

While students work with 826 Valencia tutors, they will also take acting classes with American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), and as a tutor, you will have a chance to watch A.C.T. performances with the class and watch their own work come to life in a December performance.

Join us for this one-hour training if you are interested in participating in this project. You'll have a chance to familiarize yourself with the writing prompts, and get some theater-specific writing tips.
