Memoirs at James Lick Middle School (Class B)

(In-Schools Program)

Sep 6,2013, 10:30 AM - 12:15 PM @ James Lick Middle School Writers' Room

Join us for the inaugural in-schools project of the 2013-2014 school year! Over the course of the week, we will be working in the Writers' Room with Mr. D'Amico and Ms. Pulgarin's 8th grade students as they capture a meaningful life experience in writing. Here's a message from the teachers:

The memoir writing project is an opportunity for students to write about an important event in their life. Students will first use a plot chart to organize their sequence of events. Students should be writing consistently in the past tense. Students are encouraged to use highly descriptive language, including at least three examples of figurative language. Each memoir should focus on a particular theme or learning experience that is highlighted in the story. The range of needs is diverse, so some students will be off and running while others may need help organizing their ideas and remembering what a simile is. Thanks in advance for your support!
