Young Authors’ Workshop Tutoring Training (Session II)
(General Event)
The eleventh annual Young Authors’ Workshop (YAW) will take place August 1-9 at 826 Valencia. The theme for this year’s camp is Honoring Diversity of Experience, Voice, and Background: Ways of Documenting the Self through Oral and Official Histories, the focal point being a personal narrative project.
Our cohort will be a space where everyone’s voice will be honored, recognized, and welcomed. Each student will come away from the experience with a developed and complete portfolio that will include a series of reflective pieces charting their progress, in addition to their personal narrative. A compilation of student work published in a chapbook, along with a poster of quotes from each young writer.
During this training we will cover the camp’s structure and how to provide meaningful support as a young writer’s ally.
