Tutor training: One-on-one tutoring tips

Throughout the year, we'll offer free trainings for tutors as a chance for you to keep adding tools to your tutoring toolkit for all our programs. This new training, taught by expert tutor and author Marina Koestler Ruben, will cover everything from helping students focus to strategies for communicating your feedback to students. The training will be relevant to after-school tutors and in-school tutors and promises to offer something to brand new and veteran tutors alike. 

More about the instructor: Marina Koestler Ruben is the author of How to Tutor Your Own Child: Boost Grades and Inspire a Lifelong Love of Learning-Without Paying for a Professional Tutor.  Marina works as the in-house writing tutor at Sidwell Friends School and writes for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, both in Washington, D.C., where she lives with her husband and daughter.
