Sweet Beans & Rice

(Workshop)

Mar 13,2011, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ 826 Valencia
Did you know that Japanese haikus have a cousin? It's the two-line poem a Peruvian poet created! In this workshop, we will learn to use these two styles of poetry and create exquisite poems about food from various Asian and Latino cultures. We'll uncover new foods we didn't know we could eat and write delicious poems about them. Student poems will be published in a trilingual book in English, Spanish, and Japanese. We will celebrate with a reading of our poems at the final workshop!

This workshop is a partnership with Intersection for the Arts. All students will receive one copy of the book once it's published.
