Move over, San Francisco ChronicleStraight-up News is back. Straight-up News, the publication produced by and for students at Everett Middle School, is now in its ninth year of investigative journalism! This stellar project has produced stories concerning today's issues such as the travails of preparing for eighth-grade graduation, graffiti on campus, and the great sneaker debate between fans of Nike Air Force Ones and Converse All-Stars. Straight-up News includes news, sports, features, and opinion sections that are written, edited, photographed, and illustrated by Everett students working alongside you , the tutors. Straight-up News was developed through the Writers' Room at Everett, the 826 Valencia-sponsored center in the Everett library where tutors assist students with writing assignments during the school day.
